(SOLD) This 18th century narrow taper leafed poplar wood refectory dining table with 10 drawers originated in a convent on the outskirts of Florence, Italy.  Each drawer would have held a place setting for a nun. The simple lines, tapered legs and narrow width make a perfect fit for a buffet against a wall or a console behind a sofa.  It would also work for its intended use as a dining table!  It’s one of those antique pieces that is great looking and has a wonderful story.

As you can see in the gallery photos, the table is rustic with imperfections.  The table is also very long and with four legs for support and there is a slight sag near the middle which occurred over time.  All of the drawers open and close easily and are in fact, a bit loose. We think these things add character to the table.  You most likely do too since you are reading this description!
