Decorating with Vintage and Antique Italian Terracotta
Are you ready to plant and looking for a few unique Italian terracotta pots? These planters are from the early to mid 20th century and were once being used in a botanical garden in Umbria, Italy. The designs are wonderful and the soft lighter color of the terracotta is very nice.
Have you ever see an Italian terracotta planter like this before?
A horse and chariot planter is quite unique and the horse relief is created to look as though the horse is running. There is a nice touch of hand etched detail along the top rim as well.
How about this planter with a distinctive basketweave design?
These will look like beautiful baskets of flowers when planted.
I really like these too. Very rustic Italian terracotta planters with a simple grid design.
These planters are a bit smaller. They're very charming.
Hand pinched ridge detail around the outside of the planter reminds me of a homemade pie crust.
When you think of a traditional Italian garden, don't you envision terracotta pots with garlands just like these? This classic design is always beautiful.
These planters already have that great patina as well.
Any of these planters will look great with flowers. I like to grow a lot of herbs in my terracotta pots and planters. Here's a recipe I make often and a great way to use all of those herbs!
