This pair of circa 1920 decorative wood painted plaques hail from the Tuscan hill town of Montalcino which is renowned for its Brunello wine.  Each plaque depicts an eagle (a regal symbol) surrounded by a stylized leaf and berry border.  These decorative plaques were most likely part of a larger collection that were displayed on the exterior of buildings during many of the town’s wine festivities.

In the store, we have displayed these against a column using a rustic piece of rope.  We‘ve knotted the rope and threaded it through the front of the hole on the plaque and then this is knotted and looped over a hook on the backside.  Images of this are included in the gallery photos.  You can, of course, hang however you like!
