(SOLD) This early 19th century silverplated ex voto of an arm is from Sardinia, Italy.  The size is larger than most body part ex votos and more unique as a result.  The arm detailing with the wrist bone, hand and fingers is very distinct. 

An ex voto is a votive offering displayed in a church or shrine. You’ll often see them displayed in Catholic churches throughout Italy. An ex voto represents a prayer for healing or gratitude for having been healed.  Ex votos come in various forms, often body parts, which would represent what kind of ailment the prayers and miracles were for.
