(SOLD) Years ago, amphora shaped earthenware jars like this were used for wine, vinegar or water. Today, these antique glazed terracotta jars from Puglia, Italy make a unique decorative statement.
The wear, imperfections and history (seen in the gallery photos) are the qualities that make antique pottery unique and desirable. Please note that we have highlighted old hairline fractures that have been reinforced at some point in time. The jar is still very sturdy and stable for shipping. It is common to see repairs on antique pieces and these repairs and impections are what makes each piece unique.
