(SOLD) Antique Pugliese Pitcher with Rooster

(SOLD) This antique pitcher is from the region of Puglia, Italy.  Antique pitchers from this area have a very distinguished shape and pinched spout.  They usually have some kind of hand-painted design as well, which in this case, is a wonderful cobalt blue rooster.

Dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, this pitcher is very chippy and worn from its history and use. Once used in an Italian home for water or wine, this antique pitcher today would make a unique statement displayed as a decorative piece of pottery.
