This Tuscan (Siena) antique terra cotta jar was made in Italy in the 19th century for food storage. The glaze is a beautiful deep green color which is typical of this area.
The chipping and other imperfections (seen in the gallery photos) are the qualities that make antique pottery unique, rustic and desireable.
