This large vessel or pot, circa 1850, is from the Tuscan town of Impruneta which is well know for its terracotta. The pot is quite large with one handle and a “becco” or spout.
This less commonly seen shape of an Italian antique terracotta pot, would have been used for water or wine centuries ago. As a decorative piece, the shape of this pot makes a very unique statement.
There is a small drainage hole on the bottom of the pot which is shown in the gallery images.
