Mercato Italian dinnerware in Veranda Magazine

I’ve been reading Veranda Magazine for 20+ years.  It has always been a source of design inspiration for me and for many of MERCATO’s customers as well.

I am thrilled that MERCATO’s Graffita Italian dinnerware is included in Veranda’s May/June issue Summer tabletop Guide and their website as 1 of 12 plates perfect for setting a stunning table.

In Veranda’s Summer tabletop guide, our Graffita dinner plate and salad plate is mixed with a decorative colbalt blue plate made in Bulgaria.  It looks great and demonstrates how you can mix and match favorite tableware pieces, perhaps that you already own, with different designs to give a tabletop setting a completely new look and feel.

I love mixing up tableware and find that many of our customers do as well. Here we have kept it all Italian with that pretty colbalt blue touch (similar to how Veranda mixed it up) using our own Tagliato hand painted pasta and soup bowl.

My friend and Kansas City interior designer Alan Karlin certainly can put together a beautiful table.  Here he created a wonderful tabletop combination using MERCATO’s Graffita dinnerware, dark brown chargers and a colorful tablecloth. 

What makes Graffita and our other Italian tableware unique is that it is not mass produced.  It’s handmade and with that comes slight variations and textures which is the desired result for one of a kind crafted tableware.  There’s a whole lot of history behind all of those Italian tableware designs and colors as well.  When you use interesting dinnerware for your tabletop, you will always be pleased with the end results.
